A Bright Upgrade for Our Church
After two years of patient planning, careful budgeting, and more than a few “Are we there yet?” moments, the Knights (Council 10888) are delighted to share a major improvement to our worship space.

Thanks to the dedication of Jean‑Marc, Santo, and the technical wizardry of James Mealin and Rachel Ross (HR Building Maintenance), Holy Redeemer now has three new wireless enabled monitors -- two on the front pillars and one large display near the altar.

The best part?  We were finally able to retire the giant projector screen that sat behind Fr. Sam’s chair.  The sanctuary looks cleaner, brighter, and far more welcoming.  And, yes -- Fr. Sam can now sit without feeling like he’s hosting movie night.  These new screens make it easier for everyone to follow hymns, prayers, and parish announcements. They’re already transforming how we worship together.

Coats for Kids

A Heartwarming Initiative

Since 2008, the Knights of Columbus in Ontario have been supporting the Coats for Kids program, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars and donated approximately 100,000 coats to children throughout the province.

This initiative helps children stay warm in winter and attend school regularly, which is crucial for their academic success and overall well-being.

Local Knights of Columbus councils and the State Council collect donations, and bulk orders are made to distribute the coats through various school boards before winter each yearOur Holy Redeemer Council 10888 is one of the many councils that support this initiative.

The Knights have always supported separate schools since their establishment in 1900.  However, funding and supporting schools is only one piece of the puzzle.  Children must also be able to get to school in the fall, winter, and spring.

Many new Canadian children or children from underserved families do not have appropriate winter clothing, so they stay at home instead of going to school.  The Coats for Kids program for school children in Ontario is a great initiative that helps overcome this obstacle.

It’s heartwarming to see the good that the Holy Redeemer Council 10888 is doing by supporting the Coats for Kids program.  Their efforts are making a significant difference in the lives of children in Sudbury.  We hope that more people will join this noble cause!
