Baptism
"I tell you most solemnly, unless a man is born through water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God..." (John 3.5)
Baptism is the first sacrament of our church. It is a special moment in which we become God’s children and members of His Church. It is an intimate encounter with Jesus Christ that changes us forever.
After the sacrament of baptism, we belong to Jesus Christ who claims us as his own through the pouring of water and anointing with oil. Christ fills us with life and promises us eternal life.
Baptism is the beginning of our Christian journey, one that is both graced and blessed. It requires a commitment from parents, godparents, and the parish community alike to foster a Christian lifestyle in the newly baptized and help them learn and understand the faith in which they have been baptized.
If you or your child wish to be baptized at Holy Redeemer, we would be delighted to welcome you into our community. All inquiries and requests for a child's baptism must come from a child’s parent or legal guardian.
To proceed with requesting a baptism, please complete and submit the online Baptism Request Form. Upon receipt of the form, we will contact you to discuss the details relating to preparing and celebrating Baptism.
