• Serve the parish community by Serve the parish community by facilitating a healthy and safe worship environment.
   

Responsibilities

​

• Arrives early with appropriate attire and nametag.
   

• Greets everyone who comes through our doors, demonstrating enthusiasm for their presence in a convincing way.

 

• Has a plan for seating and greeting and provides seating assistance to persons with disabilities, checking on needs for communion to be brought to them, and to late arrivals. 

 

• Ensures that a family or group has been designated to present the offertory gifts.

 

• Besides directional questions, refers requests to the Help & Information Team.

 

• Invites newcomers to pick up a mass response sheet if they may not know the responses in English.

 

• Serve as problem solvers for problem people and bad behaviour - aware of potential problems between parishioners. May have to invite people to step out of the sanctuary if their actions or words appear to be leading to violence.

 

• Carries out other duties as assigned.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications 

​

• Is ideally, a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church.
   

• Very friendly and outgoing disposition.
   

• Perceptive and able to manage situations that may arise with tact, gentleness and kindness, and if necessary, firmness.
