Bethany Minister
Overview

Prepares the schedule for Bethany Ministers to the Homebound and reports any issues that may arise to the Pastor. Bethany Ministers must be EMHCs.
Responsibilities
-
Maintains a list of current registrants for the sacrament and matches them to Bethany Ministers.

Maintains updated list of ministry volunteers and reports any changes to the Volunteer Manager.

Prepares a schedule, training, and support for ministry volunteers.

Provides a mentor for incoming volunteers. After a new volunteer’s month of mentoring to determine if this is a good match, notifies the Volunteer Coordinator for completion of required volunteer forms or discontinuation from this ministry.

Serves in volunteer positions for this ministry as required (when possible).

Reports any issues or concerns with this ministry or its volunteers to the Pastor, as well as requests for pastoral visits.

Monthly, reports to the Pastor any matters relating to changes or needs in health/spiritual needs of the homebound parishioners.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Is a registered, active member of the parish.

Is at least 18 years old and has received the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
