Overview

​

• Assists with preparing couples to celebrate the sacrament of Marriage in a hospitable, evangelizing, and welcoming manner and liaises with the Pastor as necessary.

 

Responsibilities

​

• Meets with and mentors an engaged couple as they prepare to receive the sacrament of holy matrimony using the Witness to Love workbook and other associated materials and videos. 

 

• Develops a lasting relationship with the engaged couple so that a level of trust is built between the mentors and the mentees to discuss challenges, struggles and joys of married life.

 

• Shares your own experiences and the faith accurately and seeks support when necessary.
   

• Attends and participates in the liturgical celebrations when available.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications 

​

• Is a registered, active member of the parish.

 

• Is at least 18 years old and knows the basics of the Roman Catholic faith, being married a minimum of five years.

 

• Can build a warm and supportive relationship in a welcoming environment.

 

• Has appropriate facilitation skills.
